To mark the end of Kent Nagano's ten-year tenure as General Music Director in Hamburg, the Philharmonic State Orchestra will premiere Alex Nante's Symphony No. 3 Anahata for soprano, baritone, choir, organ and orchestra in the Elbphilharmonie on 29 and 30 June.

Conductor Kent Nagano is also the dedicatee of the large-scale work, which is inspired by spiritual traditions centred on the heart as a universal symbol. Alex Nante set texts in Hebrew, Greek, Arabic, Sanskrit, Latin and Persian, among others, to music.
