The music on the album Cytropia is inspired by cybernetics, a theory based on circular processes, feedback and the fusion of natural and mechanical elements. In eleven pieces, Josefine Opsahl reinvents the potential of the cello by combining its raw, earthy sounds with the diverse possibilities of electronic manipulation. In doing so, she aims to dissolve the boundaries between the organic and the synthetic and create a dialogue between tradition and futurism.
