karsten witt musik management – founded in spring 2004 by Karsten Witt and Marie-Annick Le Blanc in Berlin – sets initiatives and provides support in all aspects of music management. Since our founding, we have worked in the fields of consultancy, producing, and artist management. Today, our company is one of the leading international artist agencies for classical music.

Our work is based on many years of international experience in the development and management of orchestras, ensembles, and concert halls, as well as in the recording industry. We see ourselves as partners of artists, ensembles, and orchestras as well as concert promoters, opera houses, and festivals in and beyond Europe.

Artist management

We advocate for talented artists – conductors, soloists, ensembles, composers – from all over the world and help realise their vision and continual development. This involves consulting on all relevant issues, the development of unique artistic projects, and the practical implementation in cooperation with an international network of promoters, concert halls, festivals, orchestras, opera houses, broadcasters, record labels, and other media companies.

Project management

We support our artists in all practical matters such as communication with promoters, negotiation and conclusion of contracts, coordination of dates, and, if needed, travel plans and other administrative tasks. For the orchestras and ensembles we represent, we plan and organise their tours. We develop educational and media projects together with our artists in addition to organising our own concerts. In this area we cooperate with our non-profit sister company CLSX.de - Partner für Musik gUG. The management of our projects also includes, naturally, budgeting, support in fundraising, coordination of public relations, as well as documentation and diffusion of press coverage.

Our consulting activities predate the establishment of our artist management. These tasks included

1995 Speaker of the Artistic Advisory Board for the restructuring of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Re-establishment of the festival as a foundation with headquarters in Lübeck

1998-2000 Consultant for the musical programme of the Expo 2000 in Hannover. Founding of the Ensemble Modern Orchestra

1999/2000 Mitglied der vom Ministerpräsidenten des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen berufenen Kommission Kultur NRW in Europa. Gründung der RuhrTriennale mit Gerard Mortier als erstem künstlerischen Leiter
