Congratulations to Holly Hyun Choe: the young conductor is honoured with the Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award 2025.

We are delighted to announce that Holly Hyun Choe will receive the Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award and become Solti Fellow 2025!

The $30,000 prize includes ongoing professional support and is awarded by the Solti Foundation U.S. to outstanding young conductors in the USA. As Solti Fellow, Holly Hyun Choe will be a guest conductor with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, amongst others.

The Solti Foundation U.S. Board Chair Penny Van Horn stated, "This year, 2025, we are celebrating the 25th Anniversary of The Solti Foundation U.S. (...) A fine example of Sir Georg Solti’s get-up-and-go spirit, a true self-starter and innovative personality on stage and off, we have watched Ms. Choe’s musical growth since 2020, when we first selected her with a Career Assistance Award. I am pleased, on behalf of the Foundation, to congratulate Holly.”

"I accept the Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award with gratitude and humility. This award changes my life, not only because of the recognition, but also as a promise to myself to continue to dedicate myself to the arts and to follow in the footsteps of Sir Georg Solti, whose life's work was rooted in the pursuit of the highest level of music-making and the depth of the power of music," says Holly Hyun Choe about the award. "Since receiving the Career Assistance Award in 2020, now followed by this prestigious award, I have strived to contribute to the diversity of the cultural scene, be a role model and make a positive impact in our society and culture through music that embraces the tradition of innovation, inter- and transdisciplinarity between art forms, and actively work to close the gap in terms of privilege, diversity and socioeconomics.  I would like to express my sincere gratitude to The Solti Foundation U.S. for following my development over the past years and believing in my potential and talent."
