Regarding the second part of the complete recording of Arnold Schoenberg's string quartets, music critic Eleonore Büning in Rondo magazine wrote: "The fabulous Gringolts Quartet already succeeded in making a highly praised new recording of reference with Vol. 1 (the quartets Nos. 2 and 4). This is now triumphantly confirmed by the second album (Nos. 1 and 3). Animated by a fervent espressivo, the through-composition of the first twelve-tone string quartet in music history seems at once juicily sensual and filigree."more
Splendid, triumphant, inspired
The new CD of the Gringolts Quartet was released on 1 April and received outstanding reviews.
