Workers at a textile factory are told to cut their daily fifteen-minute break by seven minutes - Giorgio Battistelli wrote 7 minuti, a socially critical opera based on the struggle of workers at the last factory of lingerie manufacturer Lejaby in France. The work premiered in Nancy in 2019.
In Lyon - much closer to the site of the struggles around the factory which is situated in the Auvergne region - the work is now being staged in a new production stage directed by Pauline Bayle and performed under the musical direction of Miguel Perez Iñesta. Jenny Daviet can be seen in the role of Mireille in six performances in the second half of March.
