Organised by CLSX, the event platform of karsten witt musik management, the tour took the orchestra to the Elbphilharmonie, the Konzerthaus Berlin, and Bochum, under the direction of the new JSO principal conductor Steven Sloane. The orchestra gave concerts at the Ruhr Piano Festival and the Anneliese Brost Musikforum. Elisabeth Leonskaja was the piano soloist.
"The local audiences, starved of live musical entertainment for so long, were more than a little enthused by the arrival of the Israeli orchestra," writes Barry Davis at the beginning of his article describing the concerts and the side encounters. In addition to the unique atmosphere after such a long period without live orchestra concerts, Steven Sloane's farewell after 27 years as general music director in Bochum also made the tour a special event.
