complete boulez
Before his career as a conductor, Michael Wendeberg was a member of the Ensemble Intercontemporain as a pianist and worked closely with Pierre Boulez. On the fifth anniversary of Boulez’ death, his complete recording of the composer's piano works were released.
Having already performed the complete works with great success in 2015
at the Berlin State Opera Festival and in 2018 at the Pierre Boulez
Saal, the conductor and pianist recorded the works as a co-production of
Deutschlandfunk Kultur, the label bastille musique and the Pierre
Boulez Saal Berlin. The first CD of the complete recording includes
early works composed between 1945 and 1948: the Douze Notations as well
as the Première sonate, including the premiere recording of its early
version, and the Deuxième sonate.
