Katrin Matzke-Baazoug
was born in Schwerin in northeast Germany where she attended the music grammar school, singing in the youth choir for many years. She started having piano lessons at the age of six. Following a gap year, she began studying musicology and cultural management at the Liszt School of Music Weimar and French literature at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena.
During her studies, which she completed in 2008 with a Magister Artium,
she worked as an artist assistant at the yearly master classes and
music competitions, in the university archive, for the Belvedere music
grammar school, and for the Verband Deutsche KonzertChöre, among others.
In addition, she worked for the Verein Academia Musicalis Thuringiae
for three years on the Güldener Herbst Festival in the press, marketing,
project execution and programme design departments.
Katrin has worked at Karsten Witt Musik Management since September 2010.
