Maike Charlotte Fuchs
has been managing director of Karsten Witt Musik Management since March 2011 and a Director of the International Artist Managers’ Association (IAMA) from 2014 to 2020.
She was born in Lüneburg and went to school in East Frisia and Hanover. She was introduced to opera and concert at an early age by her music-loving parents and at the age of 5, received her first piano, and later saxophone lessons. She studied Musicology and English language at the University of Hamburg and graduated with a Master's Degree.
In her Master's Thesis "Does Music make a Difference?" she worked on the development of musical abilities and transfer effects of music education in an empirical study. During her studies, she took part in the American Studies Program 1998/1999 at Smith College, USA, as a Fulbright and Smith grantee as well as in the Intensive Program in Cognitive Musicology at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland.
During her studies, she already regularly worked as a freelancer for Konzertdirektion Schmid from 1994, and was employed at their London office from July 2000 to February 2004. She joined Karsten Witt Musik Management as artist manager in April 2004.
She likes to relax in the great outdoors in her leisure time and is an avid kayaker, hiker and ice-skater. In the summer of 2015, she walked the Camino de Santiago and earned the Compostela.
