Until 4 July, Michael Wendeberg can be seen in Innsbruck with Mozart's opera buffa about intrigue, individual pursuit of happiness and the power of forgiveness at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck.
The magazine Online Merker wrote after the premiere: "The Tiroler Symphonieorchester Innsbruck performed under the direction of conductor and pianist Michael Wendeberg, who accompanied all the recitatives with verve on the fortepiano. The fact that he occasionally interspersed more recent music - including a boogie-woogie for Basilio's first appearance - was a pleasant surprise and seemed entirely coherent (...) Mozart's music was performed in a fresh, direct, virtuosic and heartfelt manner, stimulating and with tastefully chosen tempi, with the orchestra convincing both collectively through the transparency of the overall sound and in the solo passages with stylistic confidence and warmth of feeling."
