On 8 February, Christian Tetzlaff and the Orchestre National de France under Cristian Macelaru will premiere Ondřej Adámek's second violin concerto Thin Ice – one of two major works by the composer to be performed at the Présences Festival in Paris.

Soprano Pia Davila, tenor Julian Prégardien and the Ensemble Modern under Lucie Leguay will premiere Bernard Foccroulle's work Winterreisende (Winter Travellers) on 8 February at a promenade concert in Frankfurt and perform it again in the evening.

On 1 February, Titus Engel will conduct the eagerly awaited world premiere of Olga Neuwirth's opera Monster's Paradise. Following six performances in Hamburg, the work, based on a libretto by Elfriede Jelinek and directed by Tobias Kratzer, will be staged at the Zurich Opera House.
