In February, Jenny Daviet could and can be seen on a wide variety of stages: after two performances in Paris with Pascal Dusapin's chamber opera To Be Sung on 4 and 5 February – with a stage design by Pharrell Williams – she made her debut at the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin on 15 February. To mark the 100th birthday of György Kurtág, she will be performing his Kafka Fragments at the Philharmonie de Paris, followed by a recital with organist Sarah Kim at the end of the month.
Pascal Dusapin conceived his chamber opera To Be Sung, which premiered in 1994, as ‘prose of pure fantasy,’ completely dispensing with any plot. Jenny Daviet performed in the production, for which superstar Pharrell Williams designed the stage and costume sets, on 4 and 5 February together with the ensemble Le Balcon under Maxime Pascal in the auditorium of the Fondation Louis Vuitton.
She then made her debut at the Pierre Boulez Saal Berlin on 15 February with the Boulez Ensemble conducted by François-Xavier Roth, performing Skin by Rebecca Saunders.
A special concert is scheduled for 19 February: together with members of the ensemble intercontemporain, she will congratulate György Kurtág on his 100th birthday and perform excerpts from his Kafka Fragments.
She will also be performing works by Olivier Messiaen and a world premiere by Christian Rivet in a recital with organist Sarah Kim on 24 February at the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique in Paris.
