Role debut in Bremen: From 9 February and until May, Ulrike Mayer can be seen in the female title role in Hector Berlioz' Béatrice et Bénédict.

As a permanent member of the ensemble at Bremen Theatre, Ulrike Mayer regularly takes on major roles in her field such as Dorabella, Cherubino, Hänsel, Carmen and Oreste, winning over audiences with both her warm, lyrical mezzo-soprano and her outstanding acting talent.

Now she has added another role to her repertoire: from 9 February, she will sing the female title role in Hector Berlioz' opéra-comique Béatrice et Bénédict, which premiered in 1862. This subtle musical comedy, based on William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, will be staged at the Theater am Goetheplatz in a production directed by Susanne Lietzow.
