Classical:NEXT opens its doors in Berlin on 12 May with a concert programme that is as diverse as it is forward-looking. The opening event at Kühlhaus Berlin will feature a spectacular musical programme on several floors with local and international artists, including pianists Hanni Liang, Anton Gerzenberg, Michael Wendeberg and Gerorgijs Osok as well as violinist Clarissa Bevilacqua with the duo Shuteen Erdenebaatar and Nils Kugelmann (piano and alto clarinet), cellist Josephine Opsahl, pianist Giorgi Gigashvili with singer Nino Nutsubidze, the Vision String Quartet, the DSO Chamber Music Ensemble, the ensemble DieOrdnungDerDinge and the Babylon ORCHESTRA.
The showcase concerts with international musicians from 13 to 15 May are also being organised by karsten witt musik management. Most of them will take place at Berlin's alternative cultural centre Holzmarkt and will showcase new artistic concepts both musically and in terms of concert formats and audience interaction.
The showcase programmes accompany the major network meeting, which is coming to Berlin for its twelfth edition. Around 1,000 trade visitors from 50 countries on all continents represent all areas of the classical music world - the live sector, labels and the education sector. Label managers, presenters, agents, artists, publishers and representatives of institutions will come together in Berlin. Classical:NEXT is not just about classic networking, but above all about discussing new approaches for the future. In addition to the exhibition and the networking areas in the Colosseum (a cinema in Prenzlauer Berg that has been converted into a conference location), new opportunities will be discussed in international conference sessions.
Karsten Witt is one of the partners of the GmbH founded to reorganise Classical:NEXT, which brought the project to Berlin and held it here for the first time in 2024.
