Since 2012, Christoph Prégardien has repeatedly appeared as a conductor alongside his singing career. Among his most successful performances have been Bach's St. John Passion and St. Matthew Passion, as well as the Christmas Oratorio with the ensemble Le Concert Lorrain and the Nederlands Kamerkoor and the Balthasar Neumann Choir.
He is now going on tour again with the Christmas Oratorio and will conduct the baroque orchestra Il Gardellino and the Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Musica Catalana in six performances of the Christmas Oratorio (Cantatas 1, 2, 3, and 6) in Antwerp, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, San Sebastian, Barcelona, Pamplona, and Santander.
Back in 2017, the tenor had already talked about his work as a conductor in a detailed interview for our magazine.
