Katharina Duda

studied musicology, musical theatre directing, literature and philosophy in Hamburg and Berlin. Alongside various editorial roles, she soon began working as a freelance dramaturg and assistant director, as well as an assistant on the editorial team of the magazine Opernwelt. Engagements and guest dramaturgy work subsequently took her to venues including the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Theater Vorpommern, the Theaterakademie Hamburg and the Staatstheater Cottbus.

Most recently, she was Head Dramaturg for Musical Theatre and Co-Director of Musical Theatre at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck. In recent years, she has collaborated with directors such as Anna Bernreitner, Marcos Darbyshire, Jasmina Hadžiahmetović, Armin Petras and Otto Pichler. Alongside this, she has worked as a librettist and author for, amongst others, the Tischlerei at the Deutsche Oper Berlin (Michel Maler oder Um die Ecke andersrum) and the Staatstheater Cottbus (Das Welttierparlament and Hörspaziergang).

Since September 2025, she has been part of the team at karsten witt musik management, where she is primarily responsible for conductors and the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre.
