We congratulate Sasha Stychkina on her outstanding success in the competition! Her recital programme, featuring works by Beethoven, Stanchinsky, Debussy, Berio and Schumann, captivated both the audience and the expert jury. “The 22-year-old Greek-Russian pianist combines musicality, stylistic flair and a passion for performance to the highest degree. She impressed the jury with her technical skill, intellect, sense of timing and an exceptionally natural musicality,” the press release states.
As a competition open exclusively to prize-winners of other international piano competitions, the Kissinger KlavierOlymp promises top-class concerts year after year. Six pianists, aged 27 or under, come to Bad Kissingen to perform a solo recital of their own choosing in the magnificent Rossini Hall.
Sasha Stychkina’s own, intriguing selection for her recital on 2 October included Beethoven’s bright and radiant Piano Sonata No. 18, Stanchinsky’s moving and visionary preludes – which she also recorded for her highly acclaimed debut CD – Debussy’s suite Pour le piano, Berio’s Six Encores and Schumann’s Carnaval cycle. In the closing concert on 4 October, she performed Franz Liszt’s Variations on a motif from Johann Sebastian Bach’s cantata Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen, BWV 12.
The successful participants in the competition will feature in the programme for the 2027 Kissinger Sommer festival and will be supported in their careers through collaboration with other organisers and the arrangement of further performances. The PianoOlymp final concert will be broadcast on the BR-Klassik radio station on 10 October 2026 at 15.05.
