On 29 April, Anssi Karttunen will perform the cello concerto Notes on Light – which Kaija Saariaho composed for him just under 20 years ago – at the Philharmonie Berlin, together with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Sakari Oramo.
Anssi Karttunen has recorded Betsy Jolas' complete works for cello and piano together with Nicolas Hodges – the double album has now been released on the bastille musique label.
