Ilya Gringolts' solo-CD Ciaccona features music of today and draws inspiration from Johann Sebastian Bach.

However, Bach is by no means the only influence that can be seen in the works of Heinz Holliger, Roberto Gerhard und Brice Pauset, says Ilya Gringolts in his introduction for the CD booklet. He is reminded of Hungarian musical traditions as well as the Armenian Duduk in Heinz Holliger's Three Little Scenes, and he describes Roberto Gerhard's Chaconne as "the most Viennese music ever composed by a Catalan". For Brice Pauset's Kontrapartita, on the CD intertwined with Bach's partitas movements, he chose a baroque instrument.
