On 6 March, Bernard Foccroulle will perform several compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach on the organ of the Elbphilharmonie, as well as early polyphonic music from the 15th century and contemporary works.

While Bernard Foccroulle has enjoyed great success in recent years with compositions such as the opera Cassandra, his performances as an organist also keep drawing audiences to large concert halls.

An expert in both early and contemporary music, his concert at the Elbphilharmonie will focus primarily on the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. The programme will be enriched by early polyphony from the Codex Faenza and a Kyrie by Bach's contemporary Nicolas de Grigny. Contemporary works by Philippe Boesmans and Pascal Dusapin will also be performed.
