As a competition open exclusively to prize-winners of other international piano competitions, the Kissinger KlavierOlymp promises top-class concerts year after year. Six pianists, aged 27 or under, come to Bad Kissingen to perform a solo recital of their own choosing in the magnificent Rossini Hall.
Sasha Stychkina’s own, intriguing selection for her recital on 2 October includes Beethoven’s bright and radiant Piano Sonata No. 18, Stanchinsky’s moving and visionary preludes – which she also recorded for her highly acclaimed debut CD – Debussy’s suite Pour le piano, Berio’s Six Encores and Schumann’s Carnaval cycle. In the closing concert on 4 October, she will perform Franz Liszt’s Variations on a motif from Johann Sebastian Bach’s cantata Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen, BWV 12.
