51 young composers from 20 countries have submitted entries for this year’s Generace competition. Five works by the finalists will be performed at the closing concert on 16 June by the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava, conducted by Marián Lejava. The jury, chaired by Ondřej Adámek, will then announce the competition winner; an audience prize and an orchestra prize will also be awarded.
The competition is organised by the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava as part of the International Leoš Janáček Music Festival and will continue next year with a larger line-up.
