"Unquestionably magnificent". On 14 May, Michael Wendeberg conducted the world premiere of Sarah Nemtsov’s opera We at Dortmund Opera; the production, directed by Eva-Maria Höckmayr, will run until 7 June.

"Under the equally precise and masterful baton of Michael Wendeberg, the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra delivers a truly magnificent performance, bringing out all the nuances of Nemtsov’s multifaceted score, ranging from the hazy and ethereal to the brutal and menacing," wrote Neue Musikzeitung following the premiere. And Concerti magazine remarked: “The performance by the Dortmund Philharmonic is unquestionably magnificent, with guest conductor Michael Wendeberg guiding the orchestra through the score with enormous virtuosity and enthusiasm.”
