On 14 May, Michael Wendeberg will conduct the world premiere of Sarah Nemtsov’s opera We at Dortmund Opera; the production, directed by Eva-Maria Höckmayr, will run until 7 June.

Yevgeny Zamyatin’s novel We, written in 1920 and immediately banned in the USSR, inspired writers such as Aldous Huxley and George Orwell to create their own dystopias exploring the nature of dictatorships.
