The JACK Quartet will be awarded in the ensemble category, while Samir Odeh-Tamimi will receive the Premio Abbiati in the ‘Novità per l'Italia’ category for the world premiere of his composition Roaïkron at the Biennale Musica in Venice in autumn 2024.
The Premio della critica musicale ‘Franco Abbiati’ has been awarded annually in various categories by the Associazione Nazionale Critici Musicali since 1980/81. It was named after the music critic Franco Abbiati (1898-1981). The award ceremonies take place in collaboration with the city council of Bergamo at the Teatro Donizetti and other venues. The prize has been under the patronage of the President of the Italian Republic since 2008.
On 5 March 2025, the jury announced the winners of this year's Premio Abbiati; the jury statements will follow shortly.
