Carlotta Dalia and Goldmund Quartet

‘Authentic and evocative’: Carlotta Dalia and the Goldmund Quartet present their unique Paganini project, in which they perform the composer’s music on his historical instruments – their joint CD was released on 11 September on the Berlin Classics label.

For their Paganini project, Carlotta Dalia and the Goldmund Quartet, through the use of historical instruments and a chamber-music approach, focus on Paganini’s outstanding melodic inventiveness. Their first joint album brings together guitar and string quartet in a combination closely associated with Paganini himself. Carlotta Dalia plays an Ory-Koelliker guitar (Paris, 1797) associated with Paganini, whilst the Goldmund Quartet plays on the famous Stradivarius instruments of the ‘Paganini Quartet’.

Sarah Wegener performs almost every kind of repertoire, from her own lieder recital ideas to large new orchestral works. Looking back at her career, she is amazed how consistently its stations have emerged.
