Shiyeon Sung

As Principal Guest Conductor of the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, Shiyeon Sung will lead the orchestra on 16 and 17 April, performing works by Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky, and Gabriela Ortiz.

Rachmaninoff’s highly virtuosic Third Piano Concerto (soloist: Anna Vínnitskaya) and Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite feature on the programme for the two concerts at the Teatro de la Maestranza. The programme opens with Gabriela Ortiz’s Kauyumani, a work composed in 2021 that blends Mexican indigenous traditions with the avant-garde.
