On his tour of Japan with the Berlin Philharmonic Octet from 21 February to 1 March, Daishin Kashimoto will be performing works by Dvořák, Kaun and Schubert.

From 19 February to 7 March, Tito Ceccherini will conduct five performances of Laura Ronchetti's opera Inferno at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, which is being staged for the first time in a scenic version.

On György Kurtág's 100th birthday on 19 February, Jenny Daviet will perform his Kafka Fragments at the Philharmonie de Paris, followed by a recital with organ on 24 February at the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique.

From February 22 to March 15, Gaetano Lo Coco will conduct Verdi's Nabucco at the Flemish Opera in Antwerp in a production staged by Christiane Jatahy, with which he will also make his debut at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg in May.

Simone Menezes and her Ensemble K have recorded a chamber version of Gustav Holst's Planets Suite, which has now been released on CD under the title Cosmos.

In celebration of Friedrich Cerha's 100th birthday on 17 February 2026, the Boulanger Trio, Klangforum Wien and the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra under Ingo Metzmacher and Marin Alsop, among others, will be performing his music.

Just in time for Friedrich Cerha's 100th birthday, the Kairos label has released an album featuring his complete works for organ, recorded by Wolfgang Kogert.

On 8 February, Christian Tetzlaff and the Orchestre National de France, conducted by Cristian Macelaru, premiered Ondřej Adámek's second violin concerto, Thin Ice, which will also be performed in Winterthur and Prague on 21 and 23 February.

"A cool organiser of madness": On 1 February, Titus Engel conducted the highly successful world premiere of Olga Neuwirth's opera Monster's Paradise. Following six performances in Hamburg, the work, based on a libretto by Elfriede Jelinek and directed by Tobias Kratzer, will be staged at the Zurich Opera House.
