Debut at the Elbphilharmonie: Under the baton of its General Music Director, Christian Øland, the Magdeburg Philharmonic will give a guest performance in Hamburg on 5 October, featuring works by Dvořák and Sibelius.

As a sign of solidarity with the creative arts community in Saxony-Anhalt and in support of artistic freedom, the guest performance takes place two days after German Unity Day, thereby highlighting the special bond between the two cities situated on the River Elbe.

Above the vineyards by Lake Constance, with stunning views of the ‘Swabian Sea’, lies the Glazier House, summer home of Gertrud and Hans Zender. It is here that we meet to talk about the composer’s new work, which is to be premiered just a stone’s throw away from here.
