From 4 December, Valentin Uryupin will conduct Tchaikovsky's opera The Enchantress in Frankfurt.

Written between Eugene Onegin and Queen of Spades, Tchaikovsky himself considered his Charodeika (literally: "the enchantress") his best work. In spite of this, the opera about love entanglements and political intrigues is rarely programmed.
