The magazine Online Merker recently described Eliahu Inbal as having "ageless vitality" - and so it comes as no surprise that the conductor is celebrating his 88th birthday on 16 February on the podium of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, with whom he will perform five concerts in February.

On 11 February, Eliahu Inbal will conduct Brahms, Beethoven and Dvořák at Suntory Hall with the orchestra he led as chief conductor from 2008 to 2014 and which subsequently named him Conductor Laureate.
