In November, the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival presented three large-scale works by Chaya Czernowin, who was composer-in-residence at the UK's most important festival for contemporary music.

The Ensemble Musikfabrik under the direction of Enno Poppe kicked off the festival on 19 November with The Fabrication of Light. This performance was enthusiastically reviewed in the Guardian, where it was said: "Few living composers satisfy Goethe’s belief that “music is liquid architecture” more than Czernowin."
