On its summer tour, under the motto "Musical Friendships," the Bundesjugendorchester will perform works by Brahms and Mahler that were written at the same time shortly before the composers' friendship began. On 19 June, Philippe Manoury turned 70, and his birthday is being celebrated musically all year round with numerous concerts. After the actual birthday concert, which took place at the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique with musicians from the Orchestre National de France, his "thinkspiel" Kein Licht will be performed in Amsterdam.
