As music director of Opera Vlaanderen, Alejo Pérez will conduct nine performances of Tristan und Isolde starting March 22. French filmmaker Philippe Grandrieux directed the new production, which will be shown in Ghent and Antwerp.

Since September 2019, Alejo Pérez has been shaping the sound culture of Opera Vlaanderen as music director, setting strong accents with new productions - not least through his fruitful collaboration with directors of diverse artistic backgrounds (including Marina Abramovic, Sidi Labi Cherkaoui, Ersan Mondtag and Alain Platel). For Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, Philippe Grandrieux comes to Opera Vlaanderen, an artist whose film work spans TV experiments, video art, film essay, documentary film and installation.

The production can be seen in Ghent from March 22 and in Antwerp from April 9.
